For the protection of public health and the environment, and in accordance with local, 州和联邦法律, the following materials are banned from disposal in the landfill and convenience area containers:

• Regulated hazardous wastes, including flammable or toxic liquids (including paints), 固体及燃料*

If a banned item or material is identified in a load at the landfill or in a container in the convenience area, the load will be subject to surcharge.

The Solid Waste Agency does not accept solar panels for disposal or recycling. Solar panels require a waste determination to assess whether the solar panel or its parts are considered hazardous waste. If determined to be hazardous waste, solar panels cannot be disposed of in 爱荷华州 landfills and would be subject to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) jurisdiction under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).

业务es or residents should contact the solar panel manufacturer to see if they will accept end of life solar panels for proper disposal. 业务es and residents are also encouraged to find outlets that will accept solar panels, either for recycling or other disposal options. Currently, the Agency is aware of the following disposal options:

List of materials that are Bulky Items:

Mattresses - loads with 8 or more (for example: a load with four mattresses and four box springs would qualify as a bulky load)
Telephone Poles – any amount
Railroad ties – 8 or more is a bulky load 
Boats (metal removed, off trailer; trailer can be left in scrap metal pile if unwanted)
Campers (appliances removed)
Stumps – greater than 12” across (diameter); stumps smaller than 12” should go to compost location
Root Balls – all root balls are garbage to be landfilled

Vehicles Must Be Covered

All loads delivered to the Agency must be covered and secured to prevent material from blowing out.

Any vehicle without a cover will be subject to an unsecured load fine; $20.00 for residential loads, $50.商业负荷为00.

Solid Waste Agency staff are not authorized to unload any materials from customer vehicles or trailers. Customers are responsible for unloading items from their vehicles or trailers.

The Agency strives to maintain passable roads at the landfill. The Agency is not responsible for conditions which may cause vehicles to become stuck or disabled, 包括爆胎. Vehicle owners are responsible for obtaining towing services. Commercial haulers requesting assistance will be required to sign a waiver.

风速、风向, ice or snow may warrant landfill closure or restrictions on the delivery of certain wastes. If the site closes, the public will be notified via website update and media releases. During windy or wet conditions, it is best to call the agency to confirm site conditions.
